SEOPAN and the Spanish Road Association (AEC) have presented the report titled “Safety on Conventional Roads: A Priority Challenge for 2020”, in which they conclude that with an investment of 730 million euros in a total of 1,121 kilometres of conventional roads, it would be possible to prevent 69 deaths and 212 injuries every three years. The work proposes implementing actions in 73 stretches of road in the conventional network which have elevated traffic and a high hazard index, suggesting three types of actions that can compensate for human errors that may occur on this type of road, thus complementing the citizen awareness measures that are already in place.
